Global Day of Discovery: Defrosted
Another Global Day of Discovery is in the books and we’re confident that this was the greatest one yet. For the record books, we had a turn out of over 250 people and more vendors than ever. Not to brag but we had the largest turn out for Renaissance Hotels worldwide. If there’s one thing we do in Edmonton better than anywhere else - it’s knowing how to throw a party.
We’d love to say the biggest hit was the band. The Barkells absolutely killed it. The sound filled the Cartier Ballroom and had people dancing around the room, but Chef Andrew and Chef Moe may have stole the show with their outdoor inspired creations. In particular, the Smashed Yam Potato Bar was lined up all night. The Bison Burgers we no less impressive.
Adding to the WOW factor was the partnership with Quantum Pro. The production company added an LED gateway to the entrance, set up state of the art projectors to showcase a live stream from the top of Marmot Basin and custom Ren animations, PLUS an indoor fire pit. The flickering flames were the perfect effect next to the S’Mores station.
The local distillers and brewers ensured everyone got a stiff taste of the locale. That combined by the custom cocktails for XIX and The Common made for a bit of a wild evening. Just the way we like it.
Thank you again to all of our amazing local partners:
Marmot Basin, Nineteen XIX, The Common, Strathcona Spirits, Wild Rose Brewery, Rig Hand Distillery Ltd., Town Square Brewing Co., First Choice Cellars, Rural Routes Brewing Company, The Barkells and DJ Rudy!
