As a Renaissance brand, community and locality is a substantial influence, and Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel does not take that lightly. We participate in many charity events through out the year and host a healthy handful of charity galas. Therefore, we wanted to look for a way to formalize this within our hotel and introduce a way for our employees to become actively involved and engaged. Thus, RenC.A.R.E.S. was established.

We are committed to your community to raise awareness for your cause. We will elevate your cause by raising funds or providing a service. Ren cares about what you care about, and together we can make a difference.
— RenC.A.R.E.S. Mission Statement

Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel’s parent company, Platinum Investments, takes emphasis on encouraging passion. And so, we were struck with an idea: create “cause forms” for our employees to suggest a charity or volunteer opportunity that they were passionate about. Our executive board then reviews and investigates their suggestions to discover how to best go about elevating various causes by either creating awareness, raising funds, or providing a service such as volunteer hours. We are extremely excited about this addition to REAH’s repertoire and, thus far, it has introduced many opportunities for us to give back to our communities.

EFBTS Bed-Break

Our largest (and as of yet, most exciting) corporate challenge style event taking place on March 5th, 2020 in support of the Edmonton Firefighters Burn Treatment Society. With hopes to raise at least $100,000, this event will pay homage of the idea of a “jail-break” and instead focus on the experience that most burn victims have to endure: Bed-Break. Corporations will have to raise at least $10,000 from their networks to escape their cot-style bed. This will be made more interesting by the enticing lure of the Marriott bed that will be present. For a fee, groups can participate in various firefighter challenges to take over the Marriott bed. However, they may not last long, as the challenges are open to all corporations participating in the fundraiser. The Bed-Break event will be open to the public to help support by donating their favourite prisoner, as well as participate in a variety of other activities such as culinary food stations, 50/50 raffles, silent auction and a market. All proceeds raised from this event will go to the Edmonton Firefighters Burn Treatment Society.

If you, or your organization is interested in participating in this event by either sponsoring a bed or vendor booth, or donating a silent auction item,

please reach out to Marissa Caufield at (780) 266-2636 or by email marissa.caufield@pltinv.com for further information and submission forms.
